Sapphire & Diamond Engagement Ring
Creating a bespoke engagement ring is always an exciting process here at Maya Magal, from the consultation and the brainstorming of ideas that brings out the creativity of our customers and our jewellers to the work at the bench that brings those ideas to life. Today's ring is very special to us, as Will is a family friend of Maya's so she was honoured he came to us to make Amy's dream ring.
The ring
A Sapphire in a four prong setting and two pear cut diamonds set either side. Will knew Sapphires are Amy's favourites!
The couple
Amy and Will met at Nottingham Trent University during their second year. They have been together since then.
The proposal
In occasion of Amy's 30th birthday, Will organised a surprise trip to Gordes, in the south of France. After a long day exploring the surrounding areas and visiting the most beautiful viewpoints, Will suggested one last stop before going back to the hotel. While Amy was taking pictures of the mountains Will got on one knee and proposed. Such a special moment after 9 years together!
In Amy's words
I can't even begin to describe how happy I am with the ring. I had always told Will that I loved Sapphires but had never given away what sort of design I wanted, so it makes it even more special that he had such an input on designing it, and I genuinely believe I couldn't have done a better job myself. I have never seen a sapphire more beautiful and full of lilac tones, and I still can't stop staring at how sparkly it is! A truly exquisite ring.
