Designing for special occasions like weddings, anniversaries and birthdays lies at the heart of what we do. All bespoke designs are made by hand by our jewellers in our Islington workshop.

Getting started with bespoke
A Maya Magal bespoke piece of jewellery is a design created in close collaboration with you, in our signature style. Every detail, from the gemstones to the metal, is tailored to your vision and handcrafted by our team. If you're looking for something unique but ready to wear, explore our one-of-a-kind pieces designed by Maya and handmade in our London workshop.
Our bespoke service isn’t limited to engagement rings and wedding bands, though those are a popular choice. From earrings and necklaces to bracelets and beyond, our jewellers love bringing your ideas to life, whatever the occasion.
Simply fill in our bespoke enquiry form, and we’ll be in touch to book your complimentary consultation. You don’t need to have a design in mind, we’ll guide you every step of the way.
Our typical turnaround is 6-8 weeks from the date of deposit. For more intricate designs or rare gemstones, it may take slightly longer, but we’ll always aim to meet your timeline where possible.
No problem! We can arrange virtual consultations via video, phone, or email. We’ll send sketches, gemstone videos, and updates to ensure you’re fully involved throughout the process.

Design, materials & craftsmanship
Your bespoke piece is the result of a close collaboration between our talented Studio Design Team and in-house jewellers, whose workbenches are located in our Islington store. Feel free to stop by and see the team in action.
Yes. All our bespoke and fine jewellery is crafted from recycled gold. We also offer fair trade gold upon request, though we prioritise recycled materials to reduce the environmental impact of mining. Repurposing your existing jewellery is another sustainable option we proudly offer.
Absolutely. On a case-by-case basis, we can reuse diamonds or other gemstones from an heirloom piece of jewellery. We love breathing new life into sentimental heirlooms, one of the most sustainable ways to create meaningful jewellery.
We work with 9ct, 14ct, and 18ct yellow, white, and rose gold, as well as platinum. We don’t create bespoke pieces in silver, but you can explore our handcrafted silver collections online and in-store.
The ‘carat’ in gold refers to purity. 9ct gold contains 37.5% pure gold, while 18ct contains 75%. The rest is a blend of other metals that influence strength and colour. We’ll guide you in choosing the best option for your piece.

Gemstones and diamonds
Yes! Repurposing your own stones is a beautiful and sustainable way to create something meaningful.
From classic shapes like round, oval, and emerald to more unique cuts such as kite, lozenge, or freeform, we’ll guide you through the options and help you find the perfect fit for your design.
The 4Cs stand for Carat (weight), Cut (shape and sparkle), Colour (graded D–Z), and Clarity (how ‘clean’ the diamond is). We’ll walk you through each factor to help you make an informed choice.
Most diamonds over 0.5ct come with a certification (more accurately, a grading report) from trusted institutions like GIA or IGL.
Both are chemically identical. Natural diamonds are formed underground over millions of years; lab-grown diamonds are created under the same conditions above ground. We can source either based on your preferences.
The diamonds we use for our bespoke jewellery are hand selected by our founder Maya and our Bespoke Team. Based on your preferences and requirements, we work with UK based suppliers including family run businesses, independent local crafts-people, and trustworthy suppliers who have years of experience. This means we have the ability to hand select conflict-free diamonds within the Kimberley process. We are able to source traceable natural diamonds or lab-grown diamonds.

Practical information
Prices start from £1,000 and vary depending on your choice of metal and gemstones. After your enquiry, we’ll book a complimentary consultation to discuss your design ideas and budget.
Yes. If you’ve fallen in love with one of our ready-to-wear pieces but want to customise it, whether that’s changing the metal, adding gemstones, or adjusting the design, get in touch via our bespoke enquiry form.
Don’t worry, ring resizing is complimentary. You can use our Ring Sizing Guide, visit us in-store, or we can help you make an educated guess if it’s a surprise gift.
We’ll provide tailored care advice based on the materials used, and you can also refer to our Jewellery Care Guide. Our bespoke service includes complimentary resizing, repairs, and re-polishing.
Your bespoke pieces all come with a lifetime guarantee, which includes a 2 year manufacturing warranty and a lifetime aftercare service. The aftercare service includes complimentary check-ups, resizing, cleaning and re-polishing. You can find out more on our full Warranty page.
As each piece is custom-made, bespoke jewellery is not eligible for refunds or exchanges. Payment of the deposit confirms your approval of the design and our full terms.
Our Bespoke Lifetime Guarantee
We believe in jewellery that lasts a lifetime - in both quality and meaning. That’s why all Maya Magal bespoke pieces come with a lifetime guarantee, which includes a 2-year manufacturing warranty and ongoing aftercare for life.
We're here for you, always.
Your bespoke piece deserves the same love and attention it was crafted with. As part of our lifetime aftercare service, we offer:
- A complimentary check-up, professional clean, and re-polish
- A thorough inspection for any signs of wear, including loose stones or areas that may need strengthening
- Expert advice and recommendations to help prevent damage or loss
- Free replacement of any lost small diamonds (under 0.15ct) — as long as you bring your piece in for a check-up every two years
We recommend visiting us at least once every two years to keep your jewellery in its best condition.
From the moment you receive your bespoke piece, our 2-year manufacturing warranty covers:
- Repairs or replacements if your piece is found to have a manufacturing fault
- Minor repairs for everyday wear and tear
- Replacement of central stones if their loss is due to a fault in the metalwork (not due to breakage). We’ll do our best to match your original gemstone, although natural variations mean each stone is beautifully unique
Please note: natural inclusions in gemstones are part of their character and not considered faults.
To be transparent, the following are not included:
- Loss or theft of your jewellery - we recommend insuring high-value pieces through your home insurance or a specialist provider like T.H. March
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or accidental impact
- Continued wear after noticing a loose stone - please bring it in immediately to avoid voiding the warranty
- Adjustments or alterations made by a third party
- Gemstones not sourced by Maya Magal - we’re happy to advise or source a replacement at an individually quoted price
- Designs or gemstone choices that go against the recommendation of our team
We’re still here for you. We never charge for profit on repairs - only the work that’s needed - and we’ll always quote in advance before going ahead with anything.
You’ll receive guidance on how to care for your jewellery when your bespoke piece is complete. You can also visit our Jewellery Care Guide for ongoing tips.
If you have any questions about our guarantee or would like to start your own bespoke journey, get in touch or book your complimentary consultation. We’d love to hear from you.
