SOLID GOLD
We work with yellow, white and rose gold in, 18ct, 14ct and 9ct. Where possible, we use recycled gold. Solid gold is a precious metal that will not oxidise or discolour.
How to care for solid gold jewellery:
- Solid gold jewellery can be gently cleaned by hand, in warm and detergent-free soapy water.
- Restore its shine by gently buffing with a jewellery polishing cloth. Alternatively, get in touch with us for a complimentary freshen up!
- When not wearing your jewels, store them in a safe, clean and dry location.
STERLING SILVER
We only work with 925 stamped sterling silver and where possible, we use recycled silver. 925 Silver is an alloy metal consisting of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper.
How to care for sterling silver jewellery:
- Sterling silver naturally oxidises over time when exposed to the elements. We advise removing your silver jewellery before exercising or coming into contact with water.
- Wear it! Your skin’s oils are a natural buffer for silver and help to reduce the oxidation process. Avoid contact with perfume, creams, skincare products or harsh chemicals.
- Gently clean tarnished silver with a jewellery polishing cloth. When not wearing your jewels, store them in a safe, clean and dry location.
GOLD PLATED SILVER
All of our gold plated jewellery is made up of 925 sterling silver with a thick layer of 18ct gold on top. Our rings and bracelets have 3 microns of 18ct gold plate and all other styles have 2 microns. If your gold plated jewellery needs some TLC, you can always get in touch with us for our quick replating service.
How to care for gold plated silver jewellery:
- We advise removing your gold plated jewellery before sleeping, exercising or coming into any contact with water.
- Avoid contact with perfume, creams, skincare products or harsh chemicals.
- To clean gold plated jewellery, gently buff with a clean, dry cloth. When not wearing your jewels, store them in a safe, clean and dry location.
DIAMONDS
Considered one of earth’s hardest natural materials, diamonds are made from pure carbon. Our high quality natural and lab grown diamonds are conflict free and responsibly sourced by Maya herself.
How to care for diamond jewellery:
- Although diamonds are one of the strongest stones, they are not indestructible. We recommend removing diamond jewellery before extremely physical activities.
- To clean your diamond, gently rinse in warm, soapy water and lightly scrub with a soft-bristle brush then pat dry. Feel free to get in touch with us for a complimentary freshen up!
- When not wearing your diamonds, store them in a safe, clean and dry location. To be safe, be sure to check your insurance policy for specific storage instructions.
PEARLS
We use freshwater pearls in our collections, each one is selected for its natural beauty and individual variations. Pearls are organic, they require extra care and enjoy skin contact.
How to care for pearl jewellery:
- We advise removing your pearls jewellery before exercising, sleeping or coming into contact with water.
- Avoid contact with perfume, creams, skincare products, harsh chemicals or excessive temperatures.
- Gently clean your pearls with a damp cloth and allow to dry. A soft, cloth pouch or a fabric-lined jewellery box are ideal storage for pearls. Pearls need to breathe so avoid storing in airtight containers.
NATURAL GEMSTONES
Our natural gemstones are responsibly sourced and conflict-free. Each one is selected for its natural beauty and individual characteristics.
How to care for natural gemstone jewellery:
- We advise removing your gemstone jewellery before exercising, sleeping or coming into contact with water.
- Avoid contact with perfume, creams, skincare products and harsh chemicals. To clean your gemstones, gently rinse in warm water and lightly scrub with a soft-bristle brush then pat dry.
- Temperature, humidity, and sunlight all affect the longevity of jewellery. When not wearing your gemstones, store them in a safe, clean and dry location with no direct sunlight.
