Made in London, designed for life

Our founder
Our founder, Maya Magal, trained in textile design before apprenticing under a master jeweller Tony Thomson. From that quiet start she built a jewellery house with intention - where every piece is shaped by material, craft and purpose.
At Maya Magal we believe jewellery is more than adornment. It is a keepsake of moments - worn today, carried tomorrow, passed on beyond. This belief guides us: hand-crafted work, responsibly sourced materials, and a practice rooted in London’s making tradition.
For Maya, jewellery is more than adornment - it’s a meaningful narrative passed from maker to wearer.

Our roots
Maya’s journey began in art school, studying textures, surfaces, and forms. From there she turned to jewellery, drawn by the marriage of design and craft. An early apprenticeship taught her that technique matters - the careful setting of a stone, the subtle flow of a curve, the hidden solder-line unseen but felt.
In time the brand moved from that studio to Upper Street, and then to our flagship in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross. Yet our ethos remains unchanged: small-scale, human-centred making; design with integrity; pieces that endure.

Hand-crafted, material-honest
Every piece bearing the Maya Magal name is born in London. In our Islington and King’s Cross ateliers, skilled jewellers work in limited runs, applying traditional techniques with contemporary clarity. Our process is slow by design: sketch, model, set, polish - each step considered.
Material honesty is central. We work exclusively with recycled solid gold and recycled sterling silver, and meticulously selected gemstones - conflict-free, responsibly sourced. The result is jewellery that carries meaning from origin to wear.
We also believe in full-circle practice. Off-cuts are melted and reused; unsold pieces find new life. It’s the same care the maker gives, extended into material lifecycle.

Our values
Craft over volume - We favour few but considered pieces over many.
Connection & meaning - Each piece becomes part of someone’s story.
Inclusivity - Jewellery designed for all, not just a few. Our brand is independent, female-founded and collaborative.
Made to last - Beyond the immediate, we design for decades.
Sustainable by design - From metal to stone to service, we accept responsibility for origin, process and longevity.

Our collections
Our ready-to-wear collections map between daily, timeless jewellery and pieces made to commemorate. Each design begins with Maya’s drawing, then transitions to our skilled team of makers. From one-of-a-kind engagement rings to quietly elegant stud earrings, every piece is rooted in story, material and intention.
And for those seeking something singular, our bespoke service invites collaboration - your idea, our expertise, a piece crafted with care and meaning.

Why London?
We believe place matters. London is where craft lives - its workshops, its heritage, its modern energy. Here, our team is visible, accessible; the making is tangible. When you visit us, you meet the makers, you touch the metal, you understand the process. That transparency is rare and we honour it.

Looking Ahead
As we grow, we hold our values close.
We commit to training the next generation of jewellers. We continue to work in workshops with minimal waste. We embrace the tangible history of making, not the fleeting of trend.
Our vision is subtle but firm: beautiful jewellery that is quietly meaningful, built to last and made for life.
