Piercings are free with the purchase of your piercing jewellery.

• At your appointment you will first be greeted by our piercer and another member of our team. You will be asked to sign a waiver. Please remember to bring your ID. 
• Our piercer will help you to decide on the perfect piercing jewellery and placement. Please note, we offer lobe, cartilage, and nose piercings only. Our piercing jewellery is exclusive to our Notting Hill store. Browse the selection ahead of time here.
• Our licensed piercer uses single use sterlized needles to pierce. The piercing is complimentary with the purchase of your jewellery. 
  
• Our piercer will offer aftercare tips on how to best care for your new piercing. 
  

Follow-up appointments:

• A complimentary follow-up appointment can be used to check on the healing process of your new piercing or to change to a shorter back post.
• You can also book an appointment if you need help to change jewellery in a healed piercing. Our collection of hypoallergenic piercing jewellery is available online and perfect for your healed piercings. 

• Make sure you have eaten and are fully hydrated. Do not drink alcohol before your appointment. 
• Make sure to bring a valid ID to your appointment. 
  
• Browse our retail exclusive collection of piercing studs ahead of your appointment for some inspiration.

• We pierce from ages 10-15 but only with parental consent and an accompanying parent or guardian. We only offer lobe piercing for this age group.
  
• We will not pierce anyone 16 or over without a valid ID.
• You cannot be pierced if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You cannot be pierced if you under the influence of alcohol.

Our retail exclusive piercing jewellery collection is made with 14ct solid gold studs and threadless titanium backs. We use precious natural stones such as sapphires, emeralds, peridot, white topaz, and labradorite. We also use lab grown diamonds. 

We pierce with both studs and hoops, however our piercer will advise you on what is appropriate for your placement during your appointment.

Our piercing jewellery is crafted by UK based company, Tish Lyon. 

Unlike internally threaded jewellery, threadless jewellery has no threads (screws) to attach the back post to the jewellery. Instead both posts are smooth and they are held together with tension. 

The benefits of threadless jewellery include:

• Threadless jewellery is safe for any piercing. As both posts are smooth, this makes the jewellery less likely to cause irritation or infection. 
• Held together by tension, threadless jewellery is more secure than internally threaded piercings. 
• Our threadless studs have a flat back, making them comfortable for everyday wear.

We offer ear lobe and cartilage and nose piercings only. We do not offer body piercings.

Yes! We offer group piercing appointments for up to three people. If you and your friends would like to get pierced together choose our Piercing Party appointment when making your booking.

Yes! As long as we do not have a scheduled appointment already, we accept walk ins. Please note, Saturday mornings are busy and we may be less able to accomodate walk ins at these times. 

The healing time will depend on the piercing placement and varies person to person. Generally, lobe piercings take 2-3 months to heal, while cartilage piercings take 6-12 months or longer. If you choose to be pierced with a hoop this may extend the healing time of your new piercing.

See our Aftercare Guide for detailed instructions on how to care for your new piercing. If you notice anything unusual that may be a sign of infection such as persistant redness, swelling, pain or pus make an appointment with your GP. 

• Always wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your piercing.
• Clean your piercing twice a day using a saline solution or a mild, fragrance free liquid soap and warm water.
• Gently remove any crusts/discharge around the piercing site using a cotton swab or pad soaked in saline solution.

• Avoid touching your new piercing unecessarily. Especially with unwashed hands. 
  
• Avoid swimming in pools or natural bodies of water until your piercing is healed.
  
• Avoid applying creams, lotions, or cosmetics directly to the piercing area.
• Keep your hair clean and away from the new piercing to prevent irritation. 
  
• Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning beds during the healing process.

Yes, we offer follow up appointments to check on the healing process of your piercing.

At your follow up appointment you can also receive a complimentary backpost downsizing if necessary. Downsizing your stud backpost to a shorter length once initial swelling has gone down helps to ensure your stud sits correctly in the piercing and helps to prevent infections.

You can also book an appointment to have your Maya Magal piercing jewellery changed in healed piercings. This service is free with the purchase of a Maya Magal piece.

We advise not to change your jewellery until your piercing is fully healed. This will vary from person to person. 

We offer a complimentary follow up appointment to check in on your healing process and to downsize your backpost if necessary. If your piercing is fully healed at this stage we can also change your piercing jewellery for any Maya Magal piece purchased during your appointment.
