At Maya Magal, our pieces are handcrafted using recycled 9ct and 18ct solid gold, meaning the gold content is part of the metal itself. The difference lies in the amount of pure gold in the alloy. 9ct gold contains 37.5% pure gold, while 18ct gold contains 75% pure gold.
9ct gold is slightly harder and well suited to everyday jewellery, while 18ct gold has a richer colour due to its higher gold content. Both are excellent choices for fine jewellery designed to be worn and loved for years.
