A new expression of Maya Magal
MM Studio is our space for experimentation - a sculptural, fashion-led collection crafted in 18ct gold-plated recycled brass. Designed with form first, each piece explores proportion, silhouette and bold expression.
This is jewellery created for impact. For styling. For moments.

18ct Gold-Plated Recycled Brass
Each piece is crafted in 18ct gold-plated recycled brass. Gold plating is a surface finish that will naturally soften and evolve over time with wear - part of the material’s life and character.
MM Studio is intentionally designed for occasional, considered wear rather than everyday permanence. If you’re looking for jewellery made for constant daily wear, explore our collections in solid gold and sterling silver.

Care & Longevity
To preserve the finish, we recommend avoiding water, perfume and prolonged moisture, and storing your piece in a cool, dry place when not worn.
We offer a professional re-plating service should you wish to refresh your piece over time.

A Different Kind of Permanence
MM Studio allows for creative freedom -statement designs without the permanence of fine jewellery.
Bold. Architectural. Expressive.
A new chapter in the Maya Magal story.
MM Studio FAQs
MM Studio pieces are crafted from recycled brass and finished with a layer of 18ct gold plating. Gold plating is a process where a layer of real 18ct gold is bonded to the surface of the brass using an electroplating technique. This creates the rich, warm gold tone on the outside, while the brass beneath provides strength and structure.
Because the gold sits as a surface layer rather than running through the metal, it will naturally soften and evolve over time with friction, moisture and wear. This is part of the nature of plated jewellery and why MM Studio is designed for occasional, considered wear.
Each MM Studio piece is coated in real 18ct gold plating over recycled brass. While not solid gold, it offers the same luxurious colour and finish.
Gold plating is a surface finish and will naturally soften or fade with friction, moisture and regular contact. This is expected over time and is not considered a manufacturing fault.
The longevity of 18ct gold plating depends on wear and care. MM Studio pieces are designed for occasional, considered wear, rather than constant everyday use.

Gold-plated brass allows us to create bold, sculptural designs with volume and impact at a more accessible price point - making it ideal for expressive, fashion-led pieces like those in MM Studio.
Solid gold is made entirely from gold alloyed with other metals for strength, meaning the gold runs all the way through the piece. It is designed for everyday wear and long-term durability.
18ct gold-plated jewellery, by contrast, has a base metal (in our case, recycled brass) with a thin layer of real 18ct gold bonded to the surface. While it offers the same rich gold tone, the gold sits on the exterior and will naturally wear over time. This makes gold-plated jewellery ideal for statement, occasional pieces rather than permanent, everyday wear.
