❤️ How did you meet?
💬 Not a very exciting tale but we met on Bumble. Sarah's opening line was quite unique. Our first date was on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t anything too wild. We ended up going for a drink at Cable in Oval. I was hoping the live jazz would fill any awkward silences; thankfully there were none!
❤️ Tell us a little something about the proposal...
💬 The proposal wasn't exactly flawless but are they ever?! My plan was to take Sarah to a viewpoint that looked over Lisbon, but on our first night we stumbled across the viewpoint, which turned out to be a building site! So I had to turn to plan B, which was on a rooftop bar watching the sunset. We would have been the only two on the rooftop but by the time I’d plucked up the courage to ask, a few others had joined us! 5 toasts and a few drinks later, I had myself a fiancé! We celebrated with a few too many bubbles and neither of us remember getting to dinner!
❤️ What inspired the design for your ring?
💬 Sarah made some passing comments on other Maya Magal rings on Instagram which I took note of, without sounding too interested! The first piece of jewellery I gave Sarah was from Maya Magal and it had gone down well so I thought I would have a look at Maya Magal's
bespoke service. I wanted to get Sarah a ring that reflected her personality and was unique to her. She had commented that she wanted something a little different so the bespoke service seemed like the perfect opportunity.
❤️ How was your experience designing your ring together with the Maya Magal team?
💬 It was easier than I had imagined – Ella's knowledge helped keep me on track and get the perfect result. I had asked Sarah’s friend to come with me, but unfortunately she was ill so I was grateful for Ella’s opinion.
