Sterling silver

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure Silver and 7.5% Copper. Our silver jewellery is also plated in rhodium, which gives it that extra shine.

Avoid :
- Wearing your silver jewellery in hot tubs/swimming pools
- Wearing it whilst cleaning with harsh chemicals.

- Not wearing it for a long time and leaving it to tarnish.

Care & Repair
As silver is sensitive to H20, we advise removing all jewellery when you come into contact with water, especially seawater, perfume, or chlorine. This will help avoid your jewellery oxidising over time. The more you wear your silver jewellery, the better. Your skin’s oils are a natural buffer for silver and help to reduce the oxidation process.

If your silver ever becomes tarnished or oxidised, you can give it a quick clean with the polishing cloth provided.

Alternatively, get in touch with us for a complimentary freshen up!

Storage
When not wearing your jewels, try to keep them in a safe, dry (airtight if possible) location.

Gold Plated Jewellery

All of our gold plated jewellery is made up of 925 sterling silver (as above) with a layer of 18ct gold on top. We apply a thick layer of 18ct gold on our gold plated pieces: all rings and bracelets have 3 microns and all other styles 2 microns above industry standards. The more you wear your jewellery, the more the top layers eventually wear away. With gold plated jewellery, eventually, the gold layer wears down and the silver beneath shines through. That's not a problem, get in touch for our replating service!

Avoid :
- Wearing your jewellery in hot tubs/swimming pools
- Wearing it whilst cleaning with harsh chemicals.

- Wearing it 24/7 - remove before washing hands, showering, sleeping etc.

Care & Repair

As silver is sensitive to H20, we advise removing all jewellery when you come into contact with water, especially seawater, perfume or chlorine. This will help avoid your jewellery oxidising over time and help reduce the impact on the gold plating.

Solid Gold - 18ct & 9ct

At Maya Magal London we work with white, yellow and rose gold in both 18 & 9ct. Solid Gold is a precious metal that doesn’t need much care. It doesn’t oxidise or discolour.

Avoid :

- Wearing gold jewellery in hot tubs/swimming pools.

Care & Repair
Occasionally the shine may dull on gold but can be restored with a quick rub from our polishing cloth provided with your order.

Alternatively, feel free to get in touch with us for a complimentary freshen up!

It’s all part of the service.

Diamonds

At Maya Magal London we work with all types of stones, precious and semi-precious, but our favourite and most popular is Diamond.

Avoid :
- Wearing your diamonds jewellery in hot tubs/swimming pools
- Wearing whilst using hand lotions/creamy soaps.

- anything too physical (i.e. sports, cleaning, DIY) whilst wearing larger diamonds.

Care & Repair
Occasionally the shine may dull on your diamond jewellery, but this can be restored with a quick clean.
Soaking your diamond in warm, soapy water for a couple of minutes and then giving it a gentle scrub with a soft-bristle brush will help remove the build-up of dirt on and under your diamond.

Alternatively, feel free to get in touch with us for a complimentary freshen up!

It’s all part of the service.

Although Diamonds are one of the strongest stones, it doesn't mean they are indestructible. Be sure to remove diamond jewellery if you are taking part in anything that is extremely physical. Hard contact with a diamond can scratch it or at the very worst crack it.

Storage
When not wearing your diamonds, try to keep them in a safe, secure & dry location. Some insurance companies require particular storage to keep your diamond covered, so be sure to check your policy.
