Rachel Bakewell is a freelance stylist with over 15 years experience working in the fashion Industry. She has worked with a wide variety of magazines including Vogue, The Telegraph, The Guardian, International Harpers, Rika, Violet Book and Unpolished Magazine.
She currently styles poet and actress Greta Bellamacina and has previously styled a number of actresses such as Helena Bonham Carter, Lupita Nyongo, Sophie Turner, Florence Pugh to name a few.
What was your inspiration behind the collection?
My collection draws inspiration from the moon and its infinite power and beauty. The moon is a feminine symbol and I have always been fascinated by the way its phases represent the rhythm of life. I wanted to create a jewellery range with moonstones that encapsulate the planet’s metaphysical properties; calm, balance and peace, all of which are traits that we need in order to cope with everyday life.
Why did you decide to collaborate with Maya Magal?
I have always loved jewellery and my obsession dates back to childhood; the sentimentality and individualism that it represents has always appealed to me. It was exciting to be asked by Maya to take part in a project last year which saw the launch of the MMCollective Collaboration and I was thrilled that my rings were so well received. Being offered the chance to expand my existing range has allowed me to really bring my personality in to the pieces.
Maya is a joy to work with and I am a huge fan of her simple, geometric and handcrafted designs, it was such a fun process to see our ideas come to life and I can’t wait to see people wearing the collection!

Describe what you do now in one sentence
I style fashion editorials for Uk and international magazines , Celebrity Dressing and Advertising work
What brings you joy at work?
Seeing all the planning and prep come together to create beautiful images , working with teams I love and people that inspire
