In the very first of our Meet the team series we are introducing you to Caitlin, our Brand Designer. By launching this series we're hoping to give you an insight into the team that powers Maya Magal London. We're shining a light on their talents, getting to know their favourite jewellery items (and how they style them) and most importantly we're giving you an insight into the inner workings of a dynamic and female-founded business.

So Caitlin, what does your role involve?
Most days you can find me creating content for our social channels and designing digital and print artwork to use for new collections and store events.

And what's been your favourite project to work on so far?

We're currently working on lots of exciting projects for 2022 but a key highlight was launching our Heirloom Collection at the end of last year.

Fill the blank: No jewellery look is complete without...

Hoop earrings! I'm always wearing statement hoops in my earring stack. My favourites are the Tidal Hoops and I always wear the Etched Wide Band Ring. I love how both pieces make a statement in their own unique ways.

What's the best thing about being part of the MM team?
Everyone is valued for their unique knowledge and individuality, which makes working together so fun and easy!

What piece of jewellery do you wear every day?
I wear the Solid Gold Figaro Chain every day as it's a great piece to quickly dress up any outfit or look!

What was the first MM piece you bought?

My first Maya Magal piece was the Twisted Ring. I still wear it every day stacked with my other favourite MM rings.

What inspires you?

I am most inspired by colour, pattern and natural form. I get most of my inspiration from being outside and from the books I collect.

What's your favourite part of your job?

My favourite part is having a huge creative outlet. Using my creativity helps me focus and keeps me motivated to produce and design for different outputs on a daily basis.

What jewellery trends do you see being big for 2022?

I think more and more people are enjoying wearing mixed metals and I think this will be an increasing trend in 2022. Mixed metals are iconic for Maya Magal jewellery so I think this could be an exciting year for us.

If you could design a one of a kind ring, what would it look like?
I love unusual shapes and stones with a difference. Tourmalines are great for this as there are so many colour variations.

Which MM piece is at the top of your wishlist?

Top of my wishlist is the Solid Gold Heirloom Hexagon Emerald Hoop Earrings.
